St. Petersburg will receive more than 97 million rubles for rehabilitation equipment for the disabled from the federal treasury
February 28th. /MEDIA TALK/. The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, signed a decree on changing the social support program for citizens in terms of purchasing rehabilitation and habilitation equipment for the disabled.

At the moment, about 484,000 people with disabilities live in the metropolis, including 288,000 people on individual rehabilitation and habilitation programs.

The federal law on the development of a comprehensive rehabilitation and habilitation system for the disabled and children with disabilities begins to take effect in March. To increase the availability of services, the authorities will equip social service organizations with modern devices. Money for the purchase of equipment will also come from the state treasury.

From 2025 to 2027, St. Petersburg will allocate 305 million rubles for this purpose, including 97.9 million from federal funds, the city administration said.
